Requirement vary by situation but the basic documents are birth certificate, passport and photographs. Marriage certificate or divorce decree may be required but it depends on the name you are using and the name on your ID, if ID is required. ID is required for all lost passports as well as a police incident report and statement.

To obtain a birth certificate you will need your birth entry code. You will also need the correct spelling of your mother’s name and the district of your birth. If you have not record of your birth we can assist you with a search to obtain the code. for a marriage certificate you must have the marriage officer’s name in order to apply for a replacement. As with the birth cert we can assist you with obtaining this information if you need. For an adoption certificate you must know the adoptive parent’s name.

Citizenship by descent requires birth certificate for the applicant as well as for the Jamaican parent. If grandparent is the Jamaican a birth certificate is required fo both the parent and he grandparent in addition to the applicant’s birth cert. An ID is also required and photographs. We fill the forms and advise you on everything you need to know. Citizenship by marriage is lengthy process requiring several documents.
